Resort Facilities

  • 23/04/2017.....Farewell 2016-17!

After a spectacular start to the winter season which effectively guaranteed the whole season ahead, Sierra Nevada will be closing the lifts down for this year as of 3pm this afternoon. The Winter Season of 2016-17 has officially been declared as the most successful campaign in recent years contributed initially by the fantastic snowcover received at the beginning of season, the consistently superior piste maintenance work and a natural influx in ski visitors. With the end of season due to finish next Sunday 30th, the decision to close early has been one of great consideration and due to basic safety concerns with the unusually high temperatures and lack of precipitation for the time of year, the resort management company have assessed the impossibility to maintain the slopes in adequate conditions for another week. We sincerely thank all our clients and anyone else who has benefited from our services this season and wish you all a very happy summer!

apres ski sierra nevada spainThe Sierra Nevada ski resort is well known for its lively night scene, especially during high and mid-season.

After your ski day, the Pradollano Plaza area hosts a good selection of typical Spanish Tapas bars that get extremely lively between 5 and 8pm, after which people drift off to have dinner/siesta before heading out later on to the night bars.

Being a very Spanish environment, you don´t go out until 11pm at the very earliest!

This is when most disco-bars open their doors in which to party the night away until dawn. Over the course of the season regular promotional "fiestas" are held, giving away gifts upon purchase of drinks.

Bar CrescendoAmong the most popular bars, the Crescendo is perhaps the most unique and a great starting point being that it opens throughout the day and into the early hours and is a good "early" option for anyone on a different time schedule to the locals! It offers a chillout ambience with lounge style seating in its split level interior and a flaming fireplace in the centre. There is good home cooking here as well as a bar which offers a full selection of drinks including their very own "Mauld Wine" and "Lumumbas". It is located in the Pradollano square at the base of the pistes next to the Parador chairlift.

TerrazaA great sun spot, not to mention "Sunset" spot, is the terraced area lining the valley side of the Plaza de Andalucia. Here are a good selection of bar/restaurants offering a full variety of tapa, main dishes, rations etc. with outdoor terraces to take in the spectacular views both up towards the slopes and down the valley westwards towards Granada. Among the most popular spots here are Tia Maria, La Visera and Vertical.

All three open their doors from 8.30-9.00am through into the early evening. For the true "Brits" among us, La Visera offers a very hearty English breakfast interpretation!
